JULIAN OLIVER

Julian Oliver is a highly accomplished Sound Designer and Mixing Engineer with over five years of professional experience in post-production audio. Armed with a Bachelor of Music and Sound Design from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), he began his career at Breathless Films (Sydney), crafting sound on several successful feature films. Now he is an integral part of Perth’s post-sound scene, known at Soundbyte Studios for crafting immersive, detail-rich sonic landscapes.

His work has been showcased at major film festivals globally including South by Southwest Austin (SXSW), Edinburgh Film Festival, Overlook Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), BIFAN (South Korea), and Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF). His films have received critical acclaim and theatrical distribution in Australia, Spain, the UK, USA, Germany, and more, with streaming releases on Netflix (Birdeater, Lonesome), Disney+ (Shipwreck Hunters), Prime Video (Proclivitas, Birdeater, The Longest Weekend), SBS (The Longest Weekend, Lonesome, Tennessine), and ABC (Kangaroo Beach).

Julian brings a lifelong passion for audio to his work, shaping a deeply considered, harmonically-driven approach to sound design. He blends texture and detail with technical precision, with experience across Drama, Thriller, Documentary, Horror, Exotic, Comedy, and Animation.
